Pinterest fail jokes can be incredibly funny, but sometimes they can put our babies at risk. Whether you decide to become a newborn and/or baby photographer or you are a parent wanting to get good pictures of your baby, the first place you go to for inspiration is Pinterest. Unfortunately when we do so, we sometimes put the baby at risk. There are a ton of Pinterest fail jokes out there, some funny, others I cringe at.
The original image is very sweet. A glass bowl filled with candy and a sleeping baby. I can almost promise you that it is a composite. The reason being, it is extremely dangerous to put a baby in a glass bowl, they can shatter or break and seriously injure your child. [Image source]
Another cute idea that I just cringe at. The baby is falling and obviously feeling unsafe and very uncomfortable. Kids and toddler are unpredictable, they will move and wiggle at a moments notice. That baby could’ve gone flying. In the original image I assume there was a hand edited out that was ready to grab the baby if things went badly. [Image source]
As many skin sensitivities my girls have, I would never cover a baby with lipstick. You never know but they might be allergic to it. The original image is most likely an overlay you do in post processing. [Image source]
Newborns can’t hold their head up, roll over or do much of anything except cry and poop. They certainly can’t hold their head up in their hands. This is another image that is always done as a composite. Someone holds their head stable and then the arms to help with the weight. The babies do not have the neck or head control to do this on their own. [Image source]
In this image I put weights in the bucket to counter the weight of the baby, I have soft items in there so the baby is comfortable and I make sure there are no sharp edges. Then you need a spotter someone very close by. If that baby jerks, he will topple the bucket. [Image Source]
Please keep things safe and do your research before you attempt to replicate a ‘cute image’ you found on Pinterest.
